What It's Like To Work With Me
No matter where you are on your journey or what challenges you're facing, you're welcome here—exactly as you are. I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood, with trust, authenticity, and cultural awareness at the core of my approach. Through curiosity, collaboration, and a touch of humour (because therapy doesn’t always have to feel so heavy!), I aim to support you in a way that honours both who you are now and who you're becoming.

My practice is rooted in an anti-oppressive, strength-based, trauma-informed, and intersectional lens. I’m deeply committed to working with individuals from all walks of life, with a particular passion for supporting Racialized and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. I take a holistic approach to mental wellness, recognizing the deep connection between mind, body, identity, relationships, and culture. Drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities, I tailor each session to meet your unique needs and goals.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing happens in relationships. I take the time to truly understand your story, creating a supportive, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, cultural identity, relationships, or other challenges, I’m here to walk alongside you.

I offer in-person and virtual therapy for individuals in Calgary, Alberta. As a Canadian Certified Counsellor, I also provide virtual therapy across Canada. And as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I’m pleased to offer virtual sessions to residents of Ontario.

My Story
I’ve always been passionate about understanding people and the world around me. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg, double majoring in Human Rights & Global Studies and Religion & Culture. At the time, I envisioned a career in human rights advocacy, academia, or law. But after graduating in 2013, I found myself feeling lost—struggling to find a fulfilling path while quietly battling my own mental health challenges.

A year and a half later, I took a leap of faith and moved to Edmonton, Alberta, for a fresh start. I built a successful career in commercial real estate, but deep down, I knew it wasn’t my true calling. In 2019, I made the decision to pursue a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, graduating in 2022—in the middle of a global pandemic. By March 2023, I officially launched my private practice—and I haven’t looked back since.

While I chose to leave real estate behind, my love for organization, systems, and admin work remains strong. I still find joy in the behind-the-scenes details that help things run smoothly—skills that now support the heart of my private practice.

With over 15 years of experience across industries like hospitality, retail, HR, and customer service, I bring a unique, well-rounded lens to therapy. As a second-generation Jamaican-Canadian Black woman, I understand the stigma surrounding mental health in Racialized communities, and the complexity of navigating multiple social identities. My passion lies in supporting the BIPOC community, offering a space where people feel truly seen, heard, and supported—without judgment.

In addition to individual and couples therapy, I also facilitate group sessions on topics like racial identity, cultural competency, and self-empowerment. These spaces offer connection, reflection, and collective growth.

At the core of my work is a deep belief in the power of love, compassion, and healing. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you where you are, honour your story, and walk with you through the ups and downs of healing—I’d be honoured to connect with you.

Your mental health matters. Your story matters. You are worthy and deserving of support.
